Scientology videos

This new Scientology video channel is so cool.  I love the video on what Scientologists say about Scientology, and the human rights and anti-drug PSAs.  And I think my favorites of the Way to Happiness ads.

But the best thing is that they’re all online.  That’s so cool because people ask me about Scientology all the time and now I have someplace to send them, to find out!

Hillary Clinton vs. Tom Cruise

I saw this video on Spiritually Inclined and was taken aback by how similar Hillary’s statements are to those of Tom Cruise. Check it out yourself.

Sex and AIDS–Life and Death

It’s a pretty sorry state when we can be encouraged that “only” 29% of the pregnant women on our country are HIV positive. But that’s the news today out of South Africa.

How many Americans could confront walking down a street in Johannesburg today, knowing that 3 out of every 10 pregnant women we see are living under a death sentence and passing it on to their unborn children.

As reported in 2005 almost half of the 1,200,000 orphans in South Africa lost their parents to AIDS.

The people of the African continent, living under the thread to AIDS have the lowest life expectancy on Earth.

Obviously, sexual abstinence is the most effective preventative measure for sexually transmitted HIV, but what will it take to shift sexual mores to such a degree that we can make a dent in the problem?>> more

Scientology Volunteer Ministers – After the Tsunami

There is a beautiful site on the work of the Scientology Disaster Relief Team after the 2004 Asian tsunami.

Called, “After the Tsunami – Something Can be Done About It.”, it is the work of Danish Scientologist Thorsten Overgaard, freature writer and photographer, who traveled to the tsunami areas as soon as he heard of the disaster and documented the humanitarian work of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers who went there to help.

A beautiful site, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

After the Tsunami

I found a beautiful slide show on YouTube, of the work Scientology Volunteer Ministers did after the tsunami in Sri Lanka.

Human Rights

I decided to start a WordPress blog at the suggestion of a friend of mine who swears by his.

What strikes my fancy today is the human rights videos from Youth for Human Rights. I’ve just been at YouTube watching some of them.

Here’s one of my favorites:
We are All Born Free and Equal.

This is what I like most about this video apart from the fact that it is beautiful and very moving.

It was created by a 21-year-old genius of a director named Taron Lexton. He actually directed all of these videos, which were produced by the Church of Scientology International.

Taron’s first film attempt was a music video called UNITED which has gone on to win numerous awards. UNITED is a hip-hop music video that tells of bullying and how one kid overcomes it without himself succumbing to the same mentality.

It’s not always the easiest thing to do.

But I think it’s interesting that even though people tend to be cynical, our favorite movies are about people who held to their own personal integrity despite any invitations to do otherwise.
